The vulnerability could allow a local attacker to run code with elevated privileges. [1] IMPACT: Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in elevated privileges allowing an attacker to take complete control of an affected system. [1] MITIGATION: Apply the patches available from Microsoft. Best practice for WINS servers would not expose the service to hostile networks such as the internet, limiting the likelihood of exploitation.
